Campus ChitChat, founded by Stephanie Zlateva

In 2016, Stephanie Zlateva founded ChitChat App (Campus ChitChat) — a hyperlocal social platform engineered to connect college communities through real-time engagement and localized data.

I did not wait for perfect market conditions, a big budget, or venture backing. I just started building.

Lessons from bootstrapping

The first version

I designed our very first logo and product mockups using free, basic tools because paid software was not an option. Constraints forced creativity from day one.

The hustle

Every dollar earned from side jobs in the US was immediately reinvested to keep the servers running and the vision alive.

Continuous iteration

As the platform gained real market traction, we constantly refined our brand identity and user experience to match the growth we were seeing.

Hyperlocal density

We focused on real conversations, local questions, and recommendations between the people physically around you — campus by campus.

“Capital is great, but execution and grit matter infinitely more.”

That truth, learned inside Campus ChitChat, is now the operating system behind everything I build.
